Athletes of the Week – Week of Sept. 9
Every week, the Athletics department highlights some exceptional Hackley Hornets who are helping to spur on their teams.
Boys’ Soccer: Elion Ashiru ’28
Elion has been a welcome addition to the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team. Playing the forward position, Elion scored two of the three goals in a 3-0 win over Collegiate this past week. His speed and skill have been a difference maker for the team thus far this season.
Field Hockey: Devyn O’Callaghan ’25
Devyn has been a strong player all over the field to start the 2024 campaign. In a 4-1 win over St. Luke’s, Devyn scored a goal and played a big role defensively, holding St. Luke’s to one goal.

Girls’ Soccer: Gabriella Petriello ’26
Gabby has done an incredible job for the Hornets on the soccer field. Gabby has scored three of the four goals scored in the first three games, with two of them coming in a 3-1 win over Packer Collegiate.

Football: Auggie Teacher ’27
Auggie stepped up big in his first Varsity Football game against a tough King School. Offensively, he had two catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he had a drive-breaking interception that resulted in another score for the Hornets.
