Girls Basketball

Hackley Girls Basketball team started the 2016-17 season with a win at the Dan DiVirgillio tournament, and competed all season at a high level, as demonstrated by close games against 3rd ranked RCDS and 4th seeded Trinity.
Leading scorer Jordan Wade, sophomore, averaged 11 points per game. Senior Co-Captain Kristen Bringsjord often left everything she had on the court, averaging five rebounds and three steals per game. Junior Ijeoma Nwokorie and sophomore Isabelle Thomas held down the boards for us all season, averaging seven and eight rebounds per game, respectively. Sophomore Ismene Germanakos lead the offense at the point, but could often be found boxing out one of the competitions taller girls, and averaged three rebounds, three steals and three assists per game. Lastly, Senior Co-Captain, Meghan Cunningham demonstrated the most spirit, had the most fun and was a great role model for the younger team members! With 10 girls returning, the team is looking forward to “Finding a Way” back to the state tournament next year.
