Community Impact and Collaboration

Community engagement at Hackley is about strengthening connections within and beyond our School. We foster volunteerism and encourage active involvement and advocacy, all while enriching education and supporting our mission and values. By building meaningful partnerships with local organizations, integrating service-learning into the curriculum, and organizing events that connect students and families with the community, we help students become active, informed citizens.

Our K-12 students participate in a wide array of community engagement activities. Each year, Hackley students commit their time and energy to caring for our campus and supporting local communities. They choose to lead mission-focused clubs and become peer-tutors and student-mentors in the true spirit of volunteerism because they believe in committing to something larger than themselves.

Before Hackley collaborates with outside organizations, they are carefully vetted by the DEI Committee, the Community Engagement Team, and the Hudson Scholars Team — the three key groups driving community engagement efforts on the Hilltop. To learn more about some of our partnership with outside organizations, we invite you to visit our partnership page.

As students move to the Upper School, they are encouraged to take on leadership roles that enable them to work with their peers toward causes and interests of their choosing. Students manage and run fundraisers, lead club meetings, and host events on campus with the support of faculty advisors.
