Hackley Hosts Lego Robotics Competition
On Saturday, 4/28, Hackley hosted students from Long Ridge School for a fun morning of battling robots in the second Independent School Sumo-Bot Lego Robotics tournament of the year. Read on.
A total of 23 students from both schools competed in two separate competitions. In the first competition students used sensors and computer programs to have their robots autonomously battle each other. In the second competition students used iPads to remotely control their robots. There were highs and lows for all involved, with robot malfunctions, programming changes and structural modifications that had to be made throughout the day. Our students overcame these challenges and we won both competitions.
Thanks to upper school students Elizabeth H, Isabella B and Sophia R and upper school teacher Ms Johnson for acting as judges during the event.
