  • DOES MY HACKLEY FUND GIFT COUNT TOWARDS THE GALA?


    The Gala is focused on raising capital and endowment support for Hackley, and so gifts to the Hackley Fund do not count toward the Gala. 

    The Hackley Fund helps to underwrite the school’s operating budget, and it is always the school's philanthropic priority. We respectfully ask that any amounts pledged to the Gala be above and beyond one’s  historic level of Hackley Fund giving so that we can keep the Hackley Fund strong.
     
  • WILL MY GALA GIFT AND/OR PLEDGE RECEIVE CREDIT FOR HACKLEY’S CURRENT COMPREHENSIVE CAMPAIGN?


    Yes, gifts to the Gala will receive full campaign credit.
     
  • WHAT IS THE HACKLEY GALA: CELEBRATING 125 YEARS?


    Hackley’s largest fundraising event, celebrating 125 years of excellence, is hosted by the Hackley Board of Trustees, the Hackley Alumni Association, and Hackley Parents' Association. The evening includes entertainment, food and drinks, a signature dessert by celebrity chef Aarti Sequeri, live and silent auctions, tote raffles, and a parting gift. Funds raised will support Hackley’s endowment and capital fundraising goals.
     
  • WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

  • WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE EVENT?


    Upon arrival, valet will park your car at the Center for the Creative Arts and Technology. Check-in at the registration table to receive your bidder number and purchase raffle tickets. Enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and food stations. Silent auction items and raffle totes will be displayed in designated areas, and guests will enjoy a stage performance and live auction in Diller Hall.
     
  • WHO ATTENDS THE GALA? IS IT FOR CHILDREN?


    The Gala is an adults-only event. This is your chance to spend a fun evening with fellow Hackley community members while supporting our school.
     
  • WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY OFFICIAL INVITATION?


    Invitations will be mailed out in late March. Please look out for it. If you have not received yours by early April, please contact Marlene Myhal mmyhal@hackleyschool.org.
     
  • HOW DO I VOLUNTEER FOR THE EVENT?


    If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact HPA President Jen Madison at hpa@hackleyschool.org. There are many volunteer opportunities ahead of the event and the day of the event, including soliciting donations, decor planning, and set up. You can also help spread the word!  Encourage friends to come to the event.
     
  • WHAT IS A RAFFLE TOTE?


    These are black canvas tote bags filled with commemorative Hackley merchandise and themed bundles of fabulous items that are raffled off during the event. Once items have been collected for each tote, they are displayed at the event and raffled off there. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the registration desk for $50 each.
     
  • HOW DO I DONATE TO A RAFFLE TOTE?


    If you have secured a donation item like a gift card or service please reach out to Marlene Myhal at mmyhal@hackleyschool.org
     
  • WHAT IS AN AUCTION DONOR FORM AND WHY DO I HAVE TO FILL ONE OUT?


    An Auction donor form should be completed for each donation. This includes your name, address and contact information, fair market value of the donation and any restrictions, such as specific dates etc. 
    We ask you to complete an auction donor form so that we may describe all donations accurately, and ensure that all contributors receive a formal “thank you” and a tax-exempt letter for their records.
     
  • WHAT ITEMS ARE NEEDED FOR THE LIVE AND SILENT AUCTIONS?


    We welcome all your ideas, so please be creative. Anything you would like to win is a terrific item to donate! To help you, we have listed below some donations we are looking for.
    • One of a kind and unique experiences, including opportunities with celebrities and professional athletes, that one cannot otherwise purchase
    • Vacation opportunities including weekend homes, resort hotels and airline tickets
    • Exclusive and hard to obtain tickets for top sports and cultural events
    • Behind the scenes access to entertainment events
    • Gourmet experiences including private dinner parties, restaurant gift certificates
    • Jewelry items, unique hard to find items like signed sports memorabilia, signed books
     
  • HOW DO I PAY FOR MY SILENT/LIVE AUCTION ITEMS?


    Silent/Live Auction Items and Raffle tickets: You may pre-register your credit card online, register your credit card upon arrival at the event, or pay by cash, check, or credit card upon checkout at the conclusion of the event.
     
  • HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED SHOULD I WIN A SILENT AUCTION ITEM?


    You will be contacted via email in the week following the event to arrange delivery / pickup of your item.
     
  • IF I CAN’T ATTEND THE EVENT, CAN I STILL BUY RAFFLE TICKETS AND/OR BID ON AUCTION ITEMS?


    Absolutely! Since we are not using a service we can not easily do this.
    If you are unable to attend the Gala and would like to participate in the Silent Auction and/or purchase Raffle Tote tickets, an Absentee Bid Form will be available to you on the HPA Gala HOL page approximately one week prior to the event.
    • You will need to provide your Top Limit Bid and/or Number of Tickets for each item. An Auction Committee member will bid on your behalf throughout the Silent Auction and will place raffle tickets in your desired Raffle Totes.
    • Each bid will be made in the minimum increment defined for that item until you have either been declared the winner or your maximum bid is reached. If yours is the winning bid, you will pay only one increment above the next highest bid, and in no event will you pay more than your Top Limit Bid.
    • A member of the Auction Committee will contact you within 72-hours of the Gala should you have the winning bid or Raffle Tote. Your bid, submitted on this form, is binding. All sales are final; there are no exchanges or refunds.

    All absentee bids must be submitted to Marlene Myhal.by midnight, on May 1, 2025. You can email the completed bid form to mmyhal@hackleyschool.org

    As you complete the Absentee Bid Form, please refer to the item numbers and or Raffle Tote title(s). If you place a winning bid and have not completed your credit card information, your bid will still be binding and you will be contacted within 72-hours of the event to arrange for payment and pick-up.
     
  • WHERE DO I PICK UP THE ITEMS I WON AT THE RAFFLE


    Winners of the Raffle Totes will be announced during the event and you will be able to take your Tote home with you - if you are a raffle tote winner and not present at the event you will be contacted by a committee member.
  • WHAT IF I CANNOT ATTEND?


    We realize that geography and scheduling conflicts may prevent some from celebrating with us on May 3rd. If you are unable to attend but would like to be supportive, you are welcome to make a gift HERE and/or provide a silent or live auction donation.
