Athletes of the Week – Week of May 13
Every week, the Athletics department highlights some exceptional Hackley Hornets who are helping to spur on their teams.
Girls’ Lacrosse: Claire Esposito ’24
Claire has been a fierce defender and leads the team in forced turnovers in the defensive end. She also scored her first career goal this week!
Boys’ Golf: Jake Hendelman ’24
Jake recently shot a team best 73, which helped Hackley earn third place overall out of 12 teams at the Fisher’s Island Golf Tournament. This week, he shot 36 against Fieldston, which earned him medalist and helped the Hornets win the match 8.5 to .5.
Softball: Miya Lauher ’27
Miya batted .667 in three games with six hits, including one double, nine RBIs and one walk. She has also played solid defense.

Baseball: Dean Chung ’25
Dean played every position in the outfield throughout the season and contributed over 10 innings from the mound. After struggling at the plate early on, he broke out last week and went 4-9 with four singles and an RBI (3), and he finished the year batting fourth in the lineup!
