Athletes of the Week - Week of Jan. 27
Every week, the Athletics department highlights some exceptional Hackley Hornets who are helping to spur on their teams.
Fencing: Nima Jones ’26
Nima took 3rd place overall at the ISFL individual tournament last weekend. She was the highest-ranked Hackley saber fencer for the team.
Fencing: Inkosi Brou ’26
Inkosi went undefeated last week, going 5-0 in the preliminary pool round and outscoring his opponents 25-10. He has won all his direct elimination bouts, outscoring his opponents 30-17, and won the final title bout 15-10 over his Horace Mann opponent. Inkosi is currently 16-0, 1st place in the ISFL Individual Season Rankings.
Indoor Track & Field: Zach Berger ’25:
Competing in three events, Zach achieved all-around success at last week’s Ivy League meet. After running a 7.28s in the 55m dash, Zach’s speedy split in the 4x200m helped his relay team place 4th overall with a time of 1:41.67. He also achieved a PR with a 16’8” in the Long Jump.
Indoor Track & Field: Henry Prescott ’26
Henry had an outstanding performance at the Hornets’ fourth Ivy League meet. Running a personal record of 4:39.66 in the 1600m, Henry’s race marked his monumental achievement of breaking 4:40 in the mile.
Indoor Track & Field: Ashley Hollingsworth ’26
As a captain, Ashley has been instrumental in the track team’s success this season. With a time of 7.99s, she broke 8s in the 55m at last week’s Ivy League meet. She also broke 45s in the 300m with her time of 44.40s, achieving a new personal record and placing her 5th overall. To end the night, Ashley led off the 4x200m relay with an impressive sub 28s split.
