Hackley Launches Employee Resource Groups

On Nov. 1, 2022, Hackley School announced the launch of Employee Resource Groups, providing enhanced support for the Hilltop’s faculty and staff. The resource groups support key efforts outlined in Redefining Excellence: Learning Beyond Boundaries by creating opportunities for those with shared identities to gather together, feel affirmed, and find mentorship and connection.

In a letter to the community, Cyndy Jean, Assistant Head of School for Community and Inclusivity, notes, “Resource groups are not designed to replace the amazing conversations that happen across identity groups in formal and informal ways. Rather, resource groups, by design, help to create a sense of belonging within organizations when one is not a part of the dominant culture.”

Below is the list of Employee Resource Groups that will meet beginning this month:
  • AAPI Resource Group
  • Black Resource Group
  • Disability Resource Group
  • First Gen Resource Group
  • Latinx, Latine, Latina/o Resource Group
  • LGBTQ+ Resource Group
  • Multiracial/Multi-ethnic Resource Group
  • White Allies Resource Group
Hackley’s DEI Team aims to further increase resource groups, and invites employees to reach out to Cyndy directly if they are interested in becoming a facilitator for resource groups that are not already represented on the list. For example, the team has engaged in early conversations to implement a Jewish Resource Group as soon as two co-leading facilitators are identified.
