Hackley Spring Athletics Teams Finish Season Strong
Congratulations to all our Spring Athletics teams, coaches and student-athletes on a fantastic season! The Hornets played their hearts out and throughout it all showed sportsmanship, collaboration and integrity. We couldn’t be prouder of all their efforts in both the regular season and championships!
Hackley came out of NYSAIS Championships with individual Track and Field wins for Jimmy Mulosmani ’25 and Ethan Niewinski ’25 in the discus and pole vault, respectively, as well as a Boys’ Varsity Tennis win for the doubles team of Noah Meng ’27 and Leo Gutowski ’27, who beat the No. 1 seed 6-4, 6-1.
The Boys’ Varsity Golf team took third overall and Girls’ Varsity Golf took fourth, Boys’ Varsity Track and Field took sixth, and Girls’ Varsity Track and Field took ninth.
All the Hornets put up valiant efforts in their championship bouts!
Softball: After beating Marymount 12-1, the Hornets faced Poly Prep for the NYSAIS title, ultimately suffering a tough 4-3 loss.
Girls’ Lacrosse: The Hornets avenged two regular season losses to Ivy Leage Champion Dalton to advance to the NYSAIS Championship. The team played a very good game against Rye Country Day but ultimately lost 12-5.
Boys’ Lacrosse: After beating Portledge 8-3 to make it into the finals against Ivy League Champs Poly Prep, the Hornets fought hard but landed just shy of a win with a 9-8 final tally in Poly’s favor.
Baseball: The Baseball team went 1-15 on the season.
